Kid's Creations VI. – My Country (Poem)

My country

At the mention of my countries name

Other countries hide in fear

At the sight of it’s citizens

Others are nowhere near

From a far point of view

We don’t seem to care

Please allow me to change your mind

From bad things you hear

150 million people

Together in a land

Blessed with many resources

Hidden in the sand

Children in the streets

But not there by choice

People see their pain

But ignore their voice

Look closely at the children

With talent and skill

But be beware of poverty

Ever so ready to kill

Tradition and culture

We have so rich

From food, clothes, dance

And prayers at the beach

Being from my country

I can never regret

I am a Nigerian

From the land of respect
